Lesson 76 of 150

11-10-20 – Jessica

Jessica Kupferman 0:05
Hello, hello, hello. Hello, everyone. Hello. How are we doing today? I do not see any specific questions in today’s q&a. So I am just going to start talking as if we have some. In fact, I’m going to start talking about notion of been struggling with every time Halloween rolls around right after Halloween, I start to get kind of restless. And the reason I think that I get restless is because I can feel the impending end of the year. And I feel like, I mean, it could just be just me, but like, I feel like after Halloween, no one wants to do anything like, no one wants to work on anything. No one wants to. Maybe it’s just me, but I feel less and less motivated after October, I guess. Because you know what, it’s October. And then it’s Isaac’s birthday, like, bam, bam, one after the other. And last year, we had just had the event. And so after the event, and then Halloween, and then his birthday, I was like, I am doing nothing until January. But I sort of think that this is just maybe chemically, biologically, psychologically how I work I think, that November and December, I want to make changes in my house, organize my life, organize my business, organize what I’m doing. And like not work on projects not work. What do they say not work on the business, but in the business or not work in the business. But on the bit, either one, I want to do the one that, you know, allows me to organize. And this year, you know, we’ve had a lot of changes, we’ve hired a bunch of people I’ve moved organizational platforms, at least three times notion, teamwork, Asana, Basecamp, back to notion. So I’m committed to notion I really want to work on it and make sure that it is as big of a wiki as big of a hub as I could possibly have. So that’s what I’m trying to accomplish. And I’m going to try and accomplish it. By the end of the year, I also had so much fun putting together our merge store, that I’ve been wanting to put together a merge store for fun for I mean, I’ve had a list for years of T shirts, things that I’ve wanted to design, and I’ve just never had the time to do them. So mostly because it’s a pandemic, but, you know, I’ve kind of just want to do them. So that’s sort of how I’m feeling right now. Like, I just feel like the end of the year sort of moot, as far as like, accomplish, accomplish, accomplish, accomplish. And I think that if I can rearrange my life so that I can, you know, have a break at the end of the year and organized in January, I can come back out hitting it out of the park and really get some stuff done. At least that’s what I’m hoping. So, how is everyone today? What questions do you have? What are you working on? What’s going on? How’s it going? What’s happening? I’m just gonna sit and wait, I guess cuz I think I’m just talking to me, I see that there’s one watcher, and I think it’s me. And if no one shows up today, that’s okay. I’ll wait about 510 minutes. That’s probably about as long as I can talk to myself without being in by myself. If you want I’ll have you take a look, I’ll show you. I’ll share my screen. And we can look at what I’ve been organizing and notion because I know Rafi, if you see this notion is your thing, Tim? Drink a little water. Get a little crazy. All right, here we go. So I have to say before I share my screen that most of these pages are not pages that I dreamed up by myself. They’re pages that I took a course in notion. So let me just show you that course because it’s called notion mastery. And she of course has it in notion and it really covers everything. How to use the tool. Designing workflows, cultivating productivity, being overwhelmed, which is very easy to notion. And then here’s the learning journey, which is a separate, interesting. So this is all the lessons

database basics supercharge your databases. I love notion because it’s so visually attractive and it’s attractive in the sense that like the way she does it is attractive. But also you can do it however you need to do it, then that is also attractive, like it can look however you need it to look. So that said, I have a main She Podcasts dashboard, this is the dashboard. And right now under company I have planning at a glance, mission, vision and values. You know, so anyone we hire, can look at this stuff, here’s our team, here’s, you know, our contact information, company information, all our social links. And then user access users and passwords for stuff that we use. And then operation so some systems and workflows, standard operating procedures, that’s what that stands for and workflows, membership email workflow, QA workflow for get video, the live event ready and then when they’re done is done to get the video into the QA, which is something that I just hired someone to do for us. Her name is Jenny, sponsor intakes, etc, and so forth. So I haven’t started on expenses yet, because I have this in another spreadsheet. So this is kind of empty at the moment, but I think it will be good to have it here. Our weekly meetings, this is a board view, but it’s grouped up by date. So Mondays, we have these meeting Tuesday, Thursday, etc, I should put in that now I have a Jenny meeting and have a Jenny meeting and a design meeting those days. So good stuff. And then the tools. So the tools, this is my favorite thing, although it doesn’t look good at this moment, because this is the raw data. But if you look at like the gallery view, for example, what I wanted was, actually, this is a template from Marie from that course, I wanted to look at all the tools we use, you know, what kind of information, you know how familiar I am with it, whether or not I recommend it, etc. So I want to say I’ve been starting to put in all the tools we use, and she had this database already done with the tools she uses. And there was a lot of overlap. Not all but a lot. So like, I don’t use Wix, I would never use Wix. But you know, she has in there what it is, what it does know me goose to see she doesn’t like it either. workflowy, etc. So I think this will be helpful. And also, you know, I can start tagging each one companies that use it. So that if I need to make a recommendation, I can pull that, you know, I can just say embed the whole table in another page, and only show the view of clients. So this is the clients, this is the tools that I guess she wanted the one client to use, I don’t know who because it’s not my template. And a lot of it is what I use mix max. I mean, I’ve used MailChimp, I don’t use it right now. etc. So yeah, so this is the notion tools, this is a big one that I want to get organized. And let’s see, these are our areas of focus. These are all the two data to do tasks, to dues. This is the main page, this is who we’re going to be interviewing soon. merchandise, these are all the tools for that, etc, and so forth. So then I’ll show you the to dues list which you can see a number of different ways. So planning at a glance, this is another dashboard that I’m not quite finished with projects, areas, resources, archives, here’s all of our areas. Here’s 90 day planning which this is from last year. And then stuff we’re doing this quarter and we’re gonna do themes for all next year. And then projects that we’re working on. I just want to get all this filled out and complete so it looks pretty. So everyone knows what’s happening, what’s going on, etc. I’m going to stop sharing the screen now. I think I stop. I think I stopped. Looks like I stopped. Okay, so I see a question from Danielle. She says No queues for me today except you still send reminder emails about Qa? I do. I don’t know why you’re not getting them. That’s so bothersome.

Um, I will look into it right now since you’re you and it’s you and me at the moment. So let’s take a look and active campaign see why you’re not getting them. Did you somehow get on? tagged for that? You shouldn’t be though. Let’s see. Today’s a slow day for questions. And that’s okay. Maybe everyone feels that way. I feel like after. Again, it was Halloween. And then it was Isaac’s birthday. And then in the middle there, there was the election. And then at the end of that, we found out the election results. Maybe everyone is just, you know, recovering and exhausted. And that’s cool. I’m cool with that. Why not?

All right. Let’s take a look. A look a look. Look.

To meow. Danielle, Danielle Danielle. Not getting them. Oh, that’s upsetting. All right. Let’s see. Which emailed you Oh, yeah, here it is. Again. What’s the email that you use the most often, Daniel. Because there’s a bunch of Danielle’s in here and I just want to make sure that I’m sending you the right emails first of all.

Is it Fitz, business calm? No, that can’t be right. Is it?

Yeah, Danielle, everybody. Okay, SNPs. Right, let me look at this thing.

Okay, you have every tag that has ever existed. And I see that you’re being entered and exited out of automations without being sent anything. So let’s see, like, I’ll show you my screen because you won’t believe what this is doing. So for some reason, so I have these automations that this is how I get people to to remind them this, the automations here go like this, they they’re the weekly QA reminders for the squat. So I don’t know why keeps doing this. Let’s try to stop it. Stop it. Stop it. Stop it. Okay.

Okay. It’s acting crazy. Wow. Let me just refresh it because it’s ridiculous. Okay, weekly QA reminder. So I’ll just show you the way I have it set up, you can let me know what you think. Uh, basically, if any of these tags is added, it waits until Tuesday at 1pm your time, you know, my time, and then it should send you the reminder. And then when it you know that it waits, and then it goes back. So for some reason to you. Hi, James, how are you? So for some reason, you are being round and round and rounded on my developer, look at that. I thought I already have a developer Look at that. But let me just make a note to make sure that I do that. So I’m going to go in here planning at a glance, I’ll go into actions. And I will add double check with developer about cue a problem with emails and I will make sure I get that fixed in the next couple of days. Okay, I’m so sorry. That is very irritating. I don’t know why it’s happening on the steps sharing now. I’m very, very sorry. It’s okay, if you don’t have any questions today. I see James is here. Hello, James. Do you have questions for me today? Or you just want to say hey, because of so. Hey, how are you? How are you enjoying the membership. I hope you’re not Joining it. Elson talking about you know the difference between having the group group and having the membership. It’s very different. The group sort of feeds itself. And the membership feeds itself. And I know there’s lots of content in here, but the community was what I was hoping would still be hot no matter what, and it doesn’t really hop. You know, and Elsie and I were discussing it earlier today. Because, you know, she said, an interesting point, which is we’re going against human nature, in not just forcing, but even just asking people to use something other than Facebook, which they’re in all day. So compared to notion, James, the other stuff I was looking at was, I’ve tried to use Asana, which is just one feels like just one long task list. I can’t get a visual in there that I want. Basecamp, which has nice dashboards, but you know, they’re like, really into their messaging and chat feature, which, you know, we use slack. So we don’t really need a messaging and chat feature. And then I’ve tried teamwork, which just has it’s great. Teamwork is great to use that when I had an ad agency. I don’t have an ad agency anymore. And it’s really robust with features that I don’t need. And is there anything else teamwork, son base camp notion, I keep coming back, oh, Trello Trello is, you know, is a task list as well. So we do it we used to do our show notes in Trello. And we have some stuff in Trello Trello is from what I understand it’s either a Kanban board or we are is that it is just a Kanban board and not everything can fit into that. So for example, like a content calendar, I want to see like a calendar view because I have too many things going on to just have the one view so I did you know what’s great about notion also is that you can import a ton you can import stuff from Basecamp, from Donna from Trello from Evernote, so I pulled everything in there because you can make those things you can make it like a central central hub. I mean, I think you i mean i think i use Trello with my clients because it’s just an easy way to sort of flesh out the to dues but I’m going to start using notion for it and see if it and see if people like that as well. Because even if you don’t have your own motion account you can you know, at least follow it check things off, etc

Sorry, I’m dying of thirst today for some reason. Um So yeah, I’ve got to get organized now and I swear I’m going to spend the rest of the day doing it and while I’m at it, if I can be ambitious nature gets done in my house as well. Everything I talk very errantly about having so much to sell in the yard sale that I can make a ton of money and yet I never get ready for this yard sale. And part of the reason I get ready for the yard sale is because my garage is a mess. So if I start with the garage, get some out of the garage then I can start piling stuff up for a yard sale in the garage. Then when I want to have a yard sale it will all just be there ready for me to lay it all out? I’m very lucky in that I have a I live on a main a very You’re welcome Danielle by I live on a main street so it’s a really good yard sale location because I wouldn’t have to really advertise or just like stand out there with my table. Isaac went out there he was pretending at a Halloween store he went out there with a big bucket of candy the other day and just tried to sell it people walking by so funny but I mean you could do that because every bar you know coming from Greenville to you know the main Wilmington they have to go past this so so what else is going on James? I wonder if there’s a way for me to like pull I can’t really pull you in here to talk to you. That’s the one thing I think this is missing. Let’s see webcam settings now. Let’s see destinations. I wish there was a way to do it. Event setup. No. Oh, fury. See, huh? There aren’t a lot of questions today. I was just saying that’s probably because of the election. Oh my gosh.

Yeah, there’s no real way to do it. And I know there’s a first I can see that I have an unstable connection which you know, and also I mean, it’s a beautiful day outside. I have an unstable connection. I thought after the election people much speak exhausted. So, if you have any questions for me Feel free to we can talk about anything you want. Um, otherwise, if we don’t have any questions, I’ll probably go here in a few minutes. My older son is visiting me. And um I don’t think that’s nice. He’s kind of funny like that. He’s a bit of a squirrely one that one, my Nathan. So, yeah, no question. This is the first time I’ve been I have logged in couple times and not had any questions. This is the first time that I have not had one question even AB logged in. I mean, Danielle asked me a question, but it was about why she wasn’t getting the reminders, which kind of makes me wonder if that’s happening to everyone. And maybe this is the only one because they must be getting reminders for Tuesday. I don’t think Elsie has this problem. So anyway, well, I think everyone has disappeared on me so I am going to go and that’s okay. Thank you guys so much for coming. Oh, you have a lot of questions. Well let me have them then. Let’s do it. But you don’t do you don’t have them hit me. Oh wait

you know if you want to trick the time delay also you could

I’m looking at my phone to see if you’re trying to text me

while watching me drink that’s not my best angle. Oh, an audio feed. What do you mean from this? How do we do an audio feed for this? Um, that’s a good question. Yeah, it’s probably hard to watch me it’s probably better to listen. I mean, yeah, I don’t really have I mean, I’ll look into that all all set it up. See what else you can do the best I can to? Oh, yes. like to call in? Yes. That’s so smart. Um, let me figure that out. There has to be a way I mean, I know that Vimeo has this thing called live stream that you can set up I can also go on YouTube. I can also go on Facebook, but it’s not the same I’d rather all look into it. Thank you. That’s really helpful. Sorry. But if you do have questions for me James come back. I mean, just you can just text them to me and I’ll be happy to answer them what’s audio messenger quick file. What is that?

Oh, how do you send audio? Yeah, that could work but no one else would want to hear it.
